So, leg 6 of our weight loss challenge is under the table. After spending the last 2 weeks out of the gym, having a moment of weakness and eating mcdonalds and going to my aunt & uncles 40th anniversary potluck and eating probably 5000 calories in one sitting, I have no idea how I pulled off a win for round 6. Yesterday at lunch I checked the scales and I was a 232 which was up 4 lbs from last weigh in….this morning….227 lbs which is down 1 lb! WTF!?

Ok…..so long story short…Shanes pissed and on tilt, last 2 weeks of the challenge…………………

5$ per lb Wooooooooo!

Let’s just get right to the juice. Yesterday a fellow co-worker/poker buddy of mine decided that it was time to rehash our post-poned weight loss challenge. Just to set the stage, a previous bet was made to lose a certain amount of weight by a specific date, but due to physical ailements we had to put our challenge on hold.

With such long winters in the north, it can sometimes be a challenge to stay motivated and active, most of us tend to go into a hibernation mode of sorts. Well, the time has come….spring is here and we’ve decided it was time to get off our lazy asses and do something about it.

 The Rules

  • 8 Weeks  - April 21st  - June 18th, consisting of 8 rounds.
  • Weigh-ins are every Wednesday,  done before 1:30 P.M and must be witnessed.
  • Only the biggest loser of the week (round) will be paid.
  • All payments should be made the week of.
  • Each pound of body weight lost is worth $ 3.00
  • If the winner of the week lost 5 lbs, this translates,  5lbs x $ 3.00 , which is $ 15.00.
  • If a tie occurs. $ 5.00 from each player will be carried to the next round.
  • All pounds are rounded to the nearest half pound.

Bonus Incentive:

  • The player with the fewest rounds won at the end of the challenge, must mow the other players lawn twice.
  • ———————————

    Round 1 : April 21st

Name : Juggernaut ( Shane L )
Weight : 234 LBS

Name : Drawflush ( Josh R )
Weight : 239 LBS

Next weigh-in date: April 30th, 2008

Let’s get it on !!!

This will be short and sweet since I’m at work and on my lunch break. I just wanted to let my legions of loyal readers know that I’m still alive and well. I don’t know how all you other ‘ bloggers ‘ find so much time to write, I seem to never have enough time in a day to do everything I enjoy. However, that could be in part to my inability to focus one hobby at a time. I just have way too many. A new hobby for me ususally always starts with good intentions and then its not long after that when I find something new and possibly exciting to do that distracts me from whatever it was I was doing before and then the cycle repeats.

More recently, this change in focus has been attributed to a mild burnout and bitter taste to the world of poker. As most of you can attest to, the game can become mentally and physically draining at times. Sometimes its be because you are losing or that you simply need a break from too much play. Either way, there comes a point in any serious players life, you just need to take a break. Well I am at this point….I just need a small break.

So what are you doing instead, you ask? ….Well…… I’m playing World of Warcraft.  Now I know most of you are fermiliar with this game or know someone who plays it, but in a nutshell, it is a computer based role playing game with 100% focus on multiplayer interactivity. You create an in-game character, travel a virtual world, where everyone has a common goal of ‘leveling’ your character to its maximum abilities by completing quests and killing monsters. Most of the objectives/goals you encounter are team based and require a shared effort with other players around you. Hence its alure.

The fun thing about playing this for me is that my girlfriend is also enjoying the game.  So we are able to both logon at the same time and persue our rise to the top of the virtual food chain together. It’s been a lot of fun so far and it has been a great distraction from playing online poker. I can honestly say, if she was not playing, I probably wouldn’t be able to dedicate the time to it.  I hope to continue playing it for a while but will again, no doubt refocus my energy as our seasons shift towards spring/summer. Im really starting to forget what positive temperatures feel like. Gosh its been a long winter.

To finish,  just a brief update about our Puppy Razz. ( 18 weeks old ).

For the past few weeks she’s been having a real difficult time in controlling her pee’ing, It’s almost as if all the training has been going backwards and she just goes whever she pleases. But I noticed that her pee had a really strong smell and was inconsistent in color going from really clear, to really yellow. Then on the weekend I happened to notice she had some blood down there……oh ….oh…….. So on monday I took her in for 2nd booster shots and to find out of if what was going on with her. The shots went ok and when I asked the vet if we should be concerned about her issue, he didnt seem too concerned and said that its not that uncommon for puppies to catch infections and that some antibiotics would probably clear things up. So we will see how that goes, hopefully its not more serious.

I can’t wait to take her to the beach for the first time! Her favorite passtime is playing fetch, so that will be a blast. She’s never even smelled fresh grass yet….very excited for her first summer.

I should be updating my photo gallery soon with some new pictures of her along with a mountain of older pictures I’ve been meaning to post. Maybe I’ll get to that this weekend…..if im not busy leveling my Night Elf Hunter…..I’m such a geek.

Anyways, I should get back to work.

Till next time.

I don’t spend a whole lot of my time watching tv, but I did catch news highlight from the Division II National Championships in Basketball. I also see that Mookie99 posted a link as well on his blog, but figured i’d share it with all of my friends ….Check this out.

Blog fever? I think I’ve caught a bout. Like weeds that just wont go away, it seems no matter where you look these days, new blogs exist. My solution? Become a weed. As you can see my slogan is 3 fold, Poker, discussing the intricacies of all things poker. Pizza, symbolizes my passion for all things culinary, the kitchen is my forte not my fear. Pilsner, what would Poker and Pizza be without a beer to wash down all the crust and bad beats?
